New York magazine for April 23, 2007, signed on the cover. Lead article is titled "The Winner: How Obama muscled onto Hillary's turf, shocked the money Establishment, and blew the race wide open," by John Heilemann. Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1961, was elected 44th President of the United States in 2008, making him the first African American to be elected President. He came to national prominence when he delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention and was elected U. S. Senator from Illinois in 2004. Obama survived a bruising primary campaign with former First Lady Hillary Clinton, the favorite to win the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008 (his future Secretary of State). Then with his running mate, Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, he won the general election with more than 2/3s of the Electoral Votes (365-173), including 55 in the states of the former Confederacy, defeating the Republican ticket of Arizona Senator John McCain and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.Obama, whose father came from Kenya, his mother from Kansas, had been a civil rights lawyer and community organizer in Chicago, Illinois, and a state senator. Following his inauguration, Obama moved immediately to confront the most serious economic challenges to face the nation since the Great Depression. Lightly worn at left corners. Fine condition.

PRESIDENT WILLIAM J. "BILL" CLINTON
The 42nd U.S. President pens his autograph on the cover of this TIME magazine, where he is shown during the first presidential debate in 1992, signed in black felt tip
Magazine Cover Signed: "Bill/Clinton" in black felt tip. 8x10¾. TIMES Magazine of October 19, 1992, cover story: The Homestretch Clinton in Control. Bill Clinton, born William Jefferson Blythe III in Hope, Arkansas in 1946, was Governor of Arkansas (1979-1981, 1983-1992) and the first Democrat reelected President since FDR. The only elected U.S. President to be impeached (Andrew Johnson was impeached, but he had not been elected to the office), on February 12, 1999, President Clinton was acquitted on both articles of impeachment brought against him: charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. Clinton's popularity stood at 67% at the end of his trial, however. Obviously, many Americans were willing to overlook his personal failings in an era of peace and prosperity. His accomplishments in office included a waiting period for gun purchases (the Brady Law), the Family and Medical Leave Act, the North American Free Trade Agreement, welfare reform and balancing of the federal budget. Clinton had previously co-written (with Al Gore) Putting People First (1992), and he would publish his successful autobiography, My Life, in 2004. Mounted on a 13¼x10¾ frame. Edges slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
